ABOUT US
The Alexandria Senior High Theatre Department is a vibrant community where creativity, collaboration, and inclusivity take center stage. Our program is a diverse and safe space for all students to explore their voices, build confidence, and express themselves through the art of performance. We are dedicated to raising the bar for what high school theatre can achieve—both on stage and behind the scenes. Through passion, hard work, and imagination, our students bring powerful stories to life while learning the value of empathy, teamwork, and artistic excellence. At ASH Theatre, every student has a place to shine, grow, and belong. Join us as we continue to create bold, inspiring theatre that moves hearts and sparks change.
In recent years, the ASH Theatre Department has experienced an incredible renaissance, marking a new era of creativity and achievement. In the spring of 2023, our beautifully renovated auditorium reopened—now equipped with state-of-the-art lighting, sound, and presentation technology that elevates every performance to a professional level. Our Thespian Troupe #731 has continued to make its mark nationally, performing The Color Purple on the MainStage at the International Thespian Festival in 2023 and contributing to the collaborative SIX opening number in 2025. We are also honored to have received The Suffs: The Young Are at the Gates grant, making us one of only ten schools selected to pilot and develop the high school edition of Suffs. This groundbreaking opportunity allows us to work directly with Music Theatre International, the Educational Theatre Association, and the show’s creator and star, Shaina Taub—further cementing ASH Theatre’s reputation as a leader in high school performing arts innovation.
