TROUPE 0731

Thespian Honors

The International Thespian Society (ITS), founded in 1929, is an honorary organization for high school and middle school theatre students located at more than 4,200 affiliated secondary schools across America, Canada, and abroad. The mission of ITS is to honor student achievement in the theatre arts. High school inductees are known as Thespians. ITS is a division of the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA).

Members of the troupe may attend the state convention  in January, where they can attend shows, workshops, compete in acting and tech competitions, as well as audition for scholarships and college programs.  Members may also travel to the International Thespian Festival held during  June every year.

Students inducted into the International Thespian Society are eligible for honor distinction, scholarship opportunities, leadership opportunities and graduation recognition and specialized graduation regalia, including cords. ITS patches will be given to Thespians who also earn a letter in Drama to be applied to Letterman jackets.

Thespian Troupe #0731 is a dedicated group of young artists who reach out to the community and perform acts of service as well as performing onstage. The Thespian Society is a great way for students to get involved, serve the community and become a part of a close and creative family.

"I promise to uphold the aims and ideals of the International Thespian Society. I am a student of theatre and excellence is my ideal. I promise to perform my part as well as I can; to accept praise and criticism with grace; to cooperate with my fellow thespians and work for the good of the troupe; and to share my love of theatre."
